I am doing another pen swap. The theme for this swap is to make a pen that represents your state. Living in Mass I am planning to use American Elm, the state tree. I did find some American Elm Burl and I will use that wood blank below. I was thinking to add in the UMass colors somehow. I have found some Maroon Pride Arcyrlic but not such it would match well. I have also thought of staining the wood. Or do nothing. I would hate to lose the real look of the grain.
I will use a Caballero kit for this project.
any other thoughts?

You can make rings on the ends with the flag colors. I did something silmilar with this Irish Claddagh pen. I made the knot using the Irish flag colors. You can get pretty close with acrylics out there.

Not enough time for me to offer anything. Good luck. I'm sure whatever you decide it will look great. I like the sound of a "Pen Swap". Is that the PITH or something else
