Hello,
I just joined a couple days ago. I have been doing wood working as a hobby since the mid 90's, country craft stuff for wife and family members, but no lathe turning. Just bought a lathe last weekend, been playing with it some, getting accustomed to it. Turned what I call dummy duck calls for Christmas tree decoration my wife wants, just outer shape, no internal boring.Several family members hunt, so my wife thought it be a neat idea, stain some, but she wants to paint them. I used just
1-1/2" sq. pine for now till I get the hang of turning. Want to learn to make pens and maybe small bowls later on. So, thats some of my wood history and want to's.
