Some of the pieces of Bog Oak i find only need to be dried and finished. One of these is just a simple wall hanging that only needed the back flattening on a jointer. I went to a demonstration where a turner mounted a burr wall hanging on a white canvas and went with that on this piece. The other piece is fully dry now and is pretty flat on the face. This and the other piece were the outside of the logs. I am going to get a clock insert for this piece and make a mantle clock from it.
The block pictured is the quartersawn timber I am using for the lid of a jewellery box. It's not very black so I am going to use some of the blacker bog oak to make the frame and case for the box.
