This wood was removed from the "Alamo Village" movie set outside of Brackettville

Alamo Village was originally constructed for and best known as the setting for the movie The Alamo (1960), directed by John Wayne and starring Wayne, Richard Widmark, Laurence Harvey, and Frankie Avalon. Guest-starring Richard Boone.

In 1961, The Alamo won an Academy Award for Best Sound Mixing. Nearly 40 major film and TV productions were shot at Alamo Village. Including Two Rode Together (1961) directed by John Ford and starring James Steward and Richard Widmark and Bandolero! (1968) staring James Steward, Dean Martin, Raquel Welch, and George Kennedy.
