Thanks Hank. I would like to click the like buttons for all but it can lose the page. I have tried to be of some help over these 20 years. I like some of you have seen this forum grow and watched many talented artisans come through here and some colorful characters as well , but all has been a good ride and would do it all over again. I hope I entertained some over those years by my work, my threads (positive or negative) and also my contributions of many kinds. I thank Jeff for creating this place and keeping the lights on. It has become a treasure trove of info found in many places here. The behind the scenes work does not get enough credit but those people know we care. 20 years sounds like a long tome but it does go quick. I know I will not be around for another 20 and if I do not get this web site running smoothe again maybe even shorter. It is a huge annoyance and I will try to stop by and check a few threads if I can. If I do not reply please do not take it as an insult. I just can not get here. Thanks again and glad to abe a 20 year member. Maybe we should get pins or something.

@jttheclockman John, what problems are you having? Are you on a computer or phone? Anyone else having any sort of trouble?

Things look ok on the server end.

hello Jeff. This is a computer that I am on. I do not have a smart phone. As far as the problem goes, it started a couple days ago. I did nothing out of ordinary. Tried getting on the site here and it is very slow loading. Then many times when I travel from page to page it will not load the page and kicks me out of the site and I have to refresh the site. When I go to reply to a thread I get 3 bars flashing top right corner and a blue line that slides across the top of the banner as if it is loading. When I get to the site I get the rotating clock in the corner of the web site. Again it is loading or trying to load because sometimes it does not load and I have to refresh.

As i said I did nothing new. But after this happened I went and deleted all history, cookies, and cache and tried again and the same thing. Did this a couple times. Now all other forums I visit I have no problems. This morning I tried something a member suggested and that was to unplug the computer, unplug the modem and took all cables out. Unplugged power to it also. I let it sit for about 45 minutes and then put everything back together and powered up again. Still no change. I have no other ideas and am afraid I may have to step away from the site. It is frustrating trying to stay on and navigate anywhere here. i will click post reply for this and it will go through the 3 bars thing and hope it loads. Any help would be appreciated. Now you know I am not computer savvy so I have to be careful what I am clicking on and off.

I should mention, computer is 2021. I am using Microsoft Edge as web browser. Windows 10. All updates are in. I ran my virus protection and no problems show up. I ran the complete computer scan.

OK, John, sorry you're having the issues. I haven't gotten any other trouble reports, and things look ok on the server side, so I'm going to say it's probably something between your ISP and the server. Sometimes equipment starts to fail and drops packets, or routing gets messed up. I used to own an ISP and I spent months debugging a problem just one user was having between his computer and eBay. Happened to be some oddball problem that nobody seemed to believe could occur. Give it a few days and see if things improve. If not, I can give you some other things to try from your end to examine the routes between your computer and our server.
 
Awesome deal John, 20 years is amazing. As with others, iam certainly grateful for your knowledge sharing and being very open with your replies. You really helped me when I was getting started and it continues on as we move forward.

I want to thanks those who stated some nice words. It is always good to read that some time or some place I got to help someone along their path to this great hobby. I learned the exact same way from those before me and back when this site was just in its infancy but you could tell right away it was going to be a hit. I am sure when us old timers pass on their will be our replacements and they continue passing the torch and sharing the knowledge. Along the way also continue sharing their own works of art. Maybe some time in the future my name will come up out of the blue and someone will recognize some thought or work I shown and get recognized for it. Thanks again. I would hit the like button on all these replys but it will kick me out of the thread too many times. This computer stuff is killing me on this site as I still have the same problems and nothing has changed.

To Jeff, I will give it till the weekend and see what happens. I check back in from time to time but if I can not get back to the way things were I can not deal with this action of not being able to enjoy the site so may have to just step away. I tried again all the steps I took yesterday and again nothing changed. How long till Microsoft fixes things if that be their problem is unknown at this time. But being the only web site that is causing these problems is a mystery to me. I know at some time I will have to step up to Windows 11 because I think in the fall windows 10 will not be supported any more. But I heard horror stories about 11 also. Not sure if that would correct things anyway. Not being able to understand computers and trying fixes is frustrating too but was hoping I would not have to deal with them for some time being a new computer. Will see what happens. Thanks.
