Needed to replace the belt on my jet mini and actually followed Randy's article in the library on replacing bearings. Only difference I found was my pulley had 2 set screws instead of 1 and I am not real positive on aligning my belt on the pulley's at the end. It runs fine and nothing is flying off so hopefully all is well.

So, next time your looking for some info on about anything CHECK THE LIBRARY...... It is a great tool and I greatly appreciate the work those have contributed to it have done. BIG THUMBS UP :good:.... and thanks Randy for the PM and helping me.

That must be an upgrade on the newer lathes. I double checked my pulley just now and it only has one set screw. The hand wheel has two; but only one on the pulley.

Glad you got your lathe back in running order, Dustin!!

Just a thought.......I have the non-VS model. If you have the VS model, the pulleys are different and maybe the VS model has two set screws??

A straight edge should certainly work if you can manage to get one properly oriented in the confined space.

Since the pulleys are so close together, I would think that you should be able to "eyeball" the alignment and get it plenty close enough. If you can shine a good strong light in the lower door so you get a good view of the motor pulley, I think you should be able to get the pulley alignment more than close enough just by eye.
