Has anyone ever changed out a bearing in a Jet Mini?
Does it require a "press" or will a persuader and a punch do?
Out of curiosity,
Does the bearing cross refrence with any other manufacturers or is it proprietary?
Any info appreciated.
I already had to change the belt out a while ago so I have dismantled it that far.
Isn't the warranty a 2 year warranty?

Hey Eagle,
Welcome back and Yes, I've changed the bearings on my jet mini lathe. No press required and had no problem finding bearings at a local bearing house. I can give you some numbers to use for cross referencing if you like. There are two (bearings) of them. It is an easy repair. Mine was under warranty and I called Jet but no repair shop within a hundred and fifty miles and when I told the serviec dept that I would fix it myself he told me to send the bill for the bearings and they would reimburse me for the bearings and pay me for my time. What a deal?
Do a good turn daily!

Thanks Don.
I never went anywhere, just not posting as much.
I checked on the WMH tool group and it is under warranty, don't know if the bearings are covered.
If not I'll be needing the cross ref #'s.

Eagle, I have a Jet mini as well and about a month ago my bearings went out. I called Jet, took it to an authorized repair center and Jet paid for parts and labor.

I jsut got off the phone with tech support at Jet and they are sending the parts right out.No questions asked.
I like that kind of service.
The lathe is 15 months old.
