I hope this is in the right place. We had our Chapters woodturning meeting yesterday in a store that has begun to sell macines and lathes. They had the above lathe on display and I was wondering what you guys think of them. Would it be capable of milling small logs into boards for pen blanks and other blanks? I hate using the bandsaw in work because I don't want them to know my business. They know I do a little turning but they hate us doing anything outside of work :confused: don't ask me why.
I know I should see a doctor over the reaction I had with dust before buying more equipment. I just love working with wood and if I have to give it up it'll kill me. I'm a qualified cabinet maker by trade and have been working in the same company over 12 years now. I couldn't see myself working at anything else.

You should also look at features on Rikon bandsaw. You may find a better deal if you look.

Jet makes a good bandsaw expensive for what you get see features of the Rikon. Yes, Jet will cut small logs in to boards/pen blanks. Rikon gives you more bang for your bucks.

Good luck with ever you decide.

I own a Grizzly G0555 and wish had the Rikon.
