I agree we need to know the extent of use. Is this for a patch, a break fix?? Is this item going to have stress on it. Sometimes there is just the replacing factor.

I save this Australian made from going to the dump, I remove the jaws before I took the photo.
Apart from the obvious butchering around the jaws the rest of it is in good condition.

Dan the chipped out thread is in the vise casting. Can't replace that part.

Sorry, looked like a removable jaw to me. I had a friend that repaired the head of his outboard boat motor with JB Weld next to the spark plug threads, lasted several years. Should work behind the jaws, all the load is in compression to the body. I was concerned it woas the face of the jaws taking direct load.
