I ordered some Jarrah Burl recently along with some other burl blanks.
I had two of the Jarrah blanks and I blew the first one out. :(
So I decided to try this one. I used embossing powder and a lot of CA to fill holes. The embossing powder was a metallic turquoise.
It took me about 3 hours to finish it.
But here is what I started with.

Aren't those Aussie burls a joy ([xx(]) to work with? Regardless of the effort, and it's considerable, the end results are most often worth it! Good luck with your Jarrah burl. [8D]

Frank,
It is a very fine, colored powder that is used to provide raised lettering (i.e. embossing) on documents. I found some in the scrapbooking section of our local craft store, and intend to use it on one of my next projects.
