I was chosen this year to do a demo "Casting for the Woodturner" at the AAW symposium in June. My problem was I cast but rarely keep them so I've been working to make a few visual examples for the demo. I've always been facilitated with Dick Sing's inlay work and jar lids. I gave him a call and mentioned my intent of making some. He extended a warm invite to come hang out in his shop, which I took full advantage of (like always). I've made a few lids but never with inlays so the day was a learning opportunity. Dick is a tremendous turner and a great guy. After making the wood lid with resin inlay at his shop, I came home and made the resin lid with wood inlay at mine. He also showed me how he makes his wooden eggs. I made one there but have a hybrid blank ready for my next so that will be for a later post. Thanks!
