My thumb is broke, some loose peices floting around in the joint. I see the hand doc later this week or the begining of next week

Yep no more goats for this season....maybe if a got very lucky but I doubt the wife would allow it.

I have to focus on healing up and training for hill climbing now. A set back could ruin my season and I wouldn't deal with that well! I should be able to get on track for it without too much issue. I'll have less time to work on the sled but it should be doable. A lot will depend on what the hand doc has to say.

Rick, I hope it gets better soon also. I missed the part on how you did it. If it happened doing wood work stuff I would like to avoid it. I do not like pain.

Hey Tom I was rushing a vent project on our green house and my thumb got caught in a squirrel cage type blower that was running. 3/4 horse motor vs the end of my thumb and my thumb lost. It could have been much worse.

So with all the nuts stuff I like to do I was undone by a GARDENING accident!

All 'well ya dumb ass' coments will be ignored I know I'm a dumb ass on this one!

Letting the thumb heal is more of a hassle than it was to break it . . . But it can heal pretty quick. I'm sure your mind is already thinking of ways to do things even with that setup.

Adapt and thrive or die! This isnt my first time around a cast by a long shot so I already know how to handle most of the things that slow folks up. We have rigs planed that will allow me me to carry fire wood and I can pilot the boat......Tracy was not thrilled with that idea! From a turning stand point I will be doing a lot of casting and stabilizing. Honestly the only concern we have is can Tracy run my big saw? And she will be feeling trees much biggier than any she has wroked with before. She is one tuff lady so I have no doubt that she will be running it like an old pro in no time. And we have a 20 inch saw as back up if the 460 is too much for her, I am sure I can walk her through fixing the little saw.

Never under estimate an Alaskan! Even if one is a gimp and the other is a pertty girl!!!
 
Insult to injury! It is beautiful out side and I would have had a great window for a goat hunt! Gonna take the family out mushrooming tomarow.

But for now I think I will play with explosive chemicals under high pressure..........what could possibly go wrong?
 
Sorry to hear about the injury and the word of warning about venturing outside the shop. Unfortunately, its too late for me...I tripped while adjusting sprinkler valves under my deck in June. Now I'm not doing anything while I recover from rotator cuff repair surgery. Sorry about the goat trip, there will probably still be some next year. Take care of the thumb.

Cant even do that Mike the casting resin set up on me........havin me around the haouse without much to do might not be a good thing!

Ya that baby is 5 now.........and he is hopin mad about my thumb and opening day of waterfowling!!!!

But thanks for the well wishes Peter, very much apreciated.....wish I could get the boy to play hooky I'd like to go fishin.
