Around 30 years ago,whilst in South Africa, the company I work for sent me for some product training in the Netherlands ( Holland )
On that training course with me was an equally wet behind the ears client. (also from SA )
Well I still work for the same company and they sent me here to Netherlands again this week, but this time to actually give a training course in a little industrial seaport called Eemshaven. Guess who I was giving the training to?
Same guy!! Small world huh?

Sorry to bore you with work stuff, but I'm sitting in the bar at one of the crappy Schipol Amsterdam airport hotels slowly getting sloshed out of my skull.:redface:

I should go to bed, it's nearly 1am. But if you've ever stayed at a Citizen M hotel and you are older than 10, then you'll understand me delaying it!!

This fellow "sparkie" has retired back the end of May. Had a few stents put in ticker in April. Due to fact they nicked nerve going in to do stents I had a bad limp to the right leg and lots of pain. I was only a few months from retirement anyway.

I feel sorry for you. I'm the guy who was up until recently employed by Hitachi HVB, Inc. (High Voltage Breakers), they build 72.5 Kv to 362 Kv.
obviously ours were mostly for here in US, however we've sent plenty to Australia, Canada, Mexico, and Central and South America. I was the Safety Coordinator, and Maintenance Supervisor, (both-mfg. and bldg.).

I've been busy getting things set up better in my shop here lately.

I go to the indoor pool and do an exercise routine and a little swimming 5 days a week. Look forward to that.

Have daughter back home with 2 grandsons, and a new lab/border collie pup. Daughter hopes to become a Physician Assistant, just passed some early courses with outstanding grades. It will be a big change for her from a High School biology teacher in a few years.

Slapped a pattern on a piece of 6 mm Baltic Birch the other night and turned out the first scroll sawed basket I've made in years. Might have to turn back to that to unwind at times.

Hunting season is just around the corner now. Need to start making some rifle cartridge pens and bolt action pens. Lately everyone wants BOW.

Take it easy on the spirits. The headache and the way you feel the next day isn't worth it. I sure didn't listen in my younger days. A training class would no more than let out and we're down to the watering hole.

I'm not only an ex-staffer in the UK, but I also spent many nights in the M at Schipol! I completely understand you not wanting to go to bed - who thought a shower and a bog in the middle of the room were a good idea? Not to mention the free porn on the telly ...
