Thanks for donating to the school. Since all school districts are strapped for money you just helped them get school supplies. In a town just north of here a bunch of teachers got together and gave $15,000 from their own pockets to buy school supplies for their school. Considering how little they get paid in comparison to other occupations it is quite commendable.

Give with a cheerful heart. If what you give, delights in your heart do so. But if it goes beyond and does not make you cheerful. Stop it!

If I go to give $20 and get pressured to give $50. I went past my cheerful place and now I am a grumbler in my giving. Don't let 'those' people take your joy of giving.

Hopefully they realize the value of your pens and use them accordingly. It would be a shame for them to just use them as school supplies instead of selling them. Even if they underpriced them and sold them for $10 each, that's still $300, whereas using them just as regular pens sets their value equal to 3 10-packs of bics, or about $0.10 each.

That was going to be my question. Are they going to sell or auction the pens off, or are they going to hand little Johnny a Ti/Gold Majestic fountain pen and have him take his spelling test?

I have learned to ask anyone that wants a donation to send me some paperwork on their charity/fundraiser and you would be amazed how few actually do.
