Is this a ‘blowout’ ?

Whilst turning an acrylic blank today I noticed a ruff spot appeared, as I continued to ruff down the blank the spot turned into a neat little hole. Relatively new to this, is this a 'blowout ' or just a inclusion/bubble in the blank?

Looks like a bubble in the resin to me.
If you want to save it, you could possibly put some sanding dust or swarf off the blank into the hole and fill with CA, you will be able to notice the repair though, may be able to hide it with the clip. Or you could try and make a feature out of it and fill with something that really contrasts with the blank, brass filings, or get an offcut from a blank with different colours and smash it into little chips, fill the hole with that and CA. Plenty of options.

Looks like an air bubble trapped in the blank at time of casting. . Not a "blowout" ... the latter word is a rather loose term to describe all sorts of things.

Usually a BO is when the blank material separates completely from the brass tube or something to that effect. I agree with the above. I have those blanks and they are usually very good.

Why not adding some raw urushi.
