I have a bunch of M3 blanks, and I think they would make a nice kitless, if I can thread it. Any experience about it someone?

Honestly I haven't done it but you could slice off 1/2" / 12mm and drill it for a feed thread and tap it. Then open it up for a section and thread that and then open it once more and then drill it out to your cap size and thread that. The experiment wouldn't use much of your stock and it would tell you if it would work for you. I suppose you could do the same with dies too if you wanted. Hold the blank in a chuck and turn the end for a cap thread and run the die over it, repeating with the section thread. Doing both wouldn't use more than an inch /25mm. I have seen some pens made with the M3 in the past but can't recall who made them or if it was with the old formulas or the new offerings they have.
