Good morning to all from the shores of Lake Superior in northeastern Minnesota. Has anyone ever been notified by a supplier when they are about to discontinue a particular model? I ask because it seems to be occurring more frequently that I want to produce a certain pen model and it has been discontinued. Now, I have several bushings that were model specific and now gathering dust.

Never been notified by any supplier(s) that they will discontinue any particular pen kit. I have received
notifications of sale items as "clearance" which may imply that they will discontinue in due time.

It really stinks! A few years ago one of my favorites went suddenly out of stock everywhere. It's usually the first sign that something has gone discontinued. No last-time-buy notifications or anything, just boom - out of stock. - Dave

A different perspective from a different industry but logic is probably the same.

IF there were discontinued notices, the vendor would be stuck will all the remaining inventory. Human nature is to find replacement instead of the existing stock to be discontinued.
