Does anyone here use Inkscape for drawings or other things? I understand they have a free version I am thinking of trying. Any downsides to this or is there a better program. Just looking to make basic shapes. Thanks

John; Inkscape is always free. Download directly from their site. DO NOT download from any other site. Other sites install spyware or tracking software.

Inkscape is "Structured Vector Graphic" software. It does not work like image file software. Image software (JPG) creates a grid of pixels and changes the color at each point on the grid. SVG programs creates a command that says, "Put a circle at coordinates xxx,yyy and give it these properties. Inkscape makes heavy use of Shft, Ctrl, & Alt keys.

I am still not that good with it.....
