Lengthy but good. Video show the approach and landing of the first Airbus A380 landing at San Francisco. Lands on the runway next to the one the Korean airliner crash landed on. The plane is highly automated but did see a joy stick next to each pilot. They can't see the ground crew very well so the use a Christmas Tree device to guide them to the gate. Hope they don't have Hard Drives and a good anti virus program.

They likely have a camera(s) view showing where the front part of the plane and front landing gear is in relation to the runway and passenger gate, similar to what the C5's and the C17's have. When they taxi the nose of the plane is out over the grass before they have to start making their turn - now there is a good reason for having the center line on the taxiways and runways.

I hate flying and have to fly often for my job. However airplanes and flight have always amazed me. Seeing something this big and landing it is truly astounding

That was interesting... brought back lots of memories... I worked at the SFO airport from 1966 until 1976... one of my jobs was the flight information coordinator for TWA... we had the tower radio in our station and listened to all of the incoming flights... I handled the gate assignments for TWA inbound and outbound flights.... even handled a hi-jacking of Flight 72 inbound from Los Angeles... the Hijacker wanted to fly to Korea, but finally convinced him that the aircraft did not have doppler capabilities and couldn't fly over water.... When the plane landed at SF, there was an armed Brinks courier on board and he got off a good shot and took the hijacker out... exciting times back then.
