I see quite a few negative comments about in-laws....they remind me of how lucky I was. I had 4 sisters-in-law and 3 brothers-in-law and for the most part they were great. Only 2 of my sisters-in-law are still living but they are still my sisters and for years if we introduced each other to someone it was "This is my brother" or "This is my sister" with no mention of the in-law. It was the same with my two deceased sisters-in-law.

I think God was just so generous when he matched my family with their spouses. The marriages all lasted except my younger sister's first marriage.
We never had inner family squabbles, we all liked each other and really enjoyed ourselves whenever we got together.

I have always hated the phrases inlaws, stepson .stepdaughter etc, if there part of the family, there, sister, brother, son ,daughter, just like in church,we call the men brothers, and the women sisters,
God Bless Us All

I understand...In some instances you're right. I have a (by blood) neice who has been my sister all my life. She lived with my mother and father from when she was 3 until she got married. We both called my parents mom and dad, all our friends thought we were brother and sister and were confused that we had different last names......

You are indeed lucky. My wife has 5 brothers and 3 sisters. She is the only one that hasnt gone to jail some more than once. All 8 of them couldnt scrape enough to together to pay attention.

It is a blessing to have great "inlaws". I think as much of mine as i do blood relitaves. I think some us the term inlaws instead of "Black Sheep". All families have at least one black sheep in the family and if you think yours don't, then you must be "IT".

Hmmm - I was "it" I hate to think of how many times my mom or dad admonished me with "None of your brothers or sisters ever did anything like that." I was the youngest of seven.
