Dee had a slight problem at the hotel in Richmond. She was walking EZ and just ran out of breath and could hardly stand up. Her ankles were swollen and showed the classic conditions for heart problems. Being the hard headed Irish gal she insisted it was just her bronchitis and insisted she was fine. We made an appointment with her doctor and when we got home I took her to see her doc. She is now at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital as she has what is called fibrillation, a rapid series of contractions of the heart. They will keep her until they find the right combination of drugs to even out her heart beats.

Thinking about you Roy. They have lots of medications to control that condition and some really good Doctors as well. Just continue to be strong for Dee.

Hi Roy our thoughts and prayers are with you and Dee. Of all the heart problems she could have that is one that is very controllable with meds. She will be good as new soon.

It was great to see you and Dee at MAPG! Take care of her. She is a special lady! Glad you got her to the doc when you did!

Sorry to hear of Dee's scare, I hope she recovers without any complication...!

Some people get it not knowing what it is, I think that is little less scary than, being waiting for something like that or worse to happen. That is what I have been living with these last 12 months, hypertension (high blood pressure) that got out of control when the medication I was on, stop working, the doctors have not yet been able to find the cause, I'm hopeful that, a series of tests I done recently request by a heart specialist, produce some results, I will know on the 19 of this month.

My "ticka" is just beating too damn fast, average 210/120...!:eek::frown:

The scary thing is that, I feel fairly OK, some dizzy spells and head spins but nothing that noticeable, no wonder why they call it the "silent death"...!:redface:

Hope everything goes right for Dee and yourself.

Sorry to hear about Dee. We'll be praying for you both and for a speedy recovery for Dee. Evelyn says (She a Nurse) if you ever see those sign's again call 911 right then.

Tell her that's nothing to mess with... Dianne has had atrial fibrillation since she was 26 - she 70 now - and in the first years of our marriage - second for both of us - she was hospitalized a number of times with the rapid heart beat.... one year we made 9 trips to the emergency room... she was finally sent to see a doctor in Houston, the same one who treated Alijawan (sp? the Rocket's basketball player) for his fibrillation... she was put on a medication called Sotolol that controlled them well until this past winter when she got the blood infection that hospitalized her for over 5 months... in the process of treating that, they had to do a heart valve replacement and while in the chest the doctor did a "Maise" (again sp??) procedure that is supposed to stop the fibrillation.... not a process you want Dee to take anytime soon... Dianne is recovering but it's a slow process, she's been home just 30 days now since Dec 9 and still weak, but gaining strength daily.

Tell her to hang in there, listen to the doctors, and you do the same... from another husband who's been through it.
 
I learned something tonight, Roy. There are 2 heart hospitals in OKC, and Dee wasn't at the first one I went to! I thought the only one was up at Mercy.
Enjoyed a short visit. Praying for Dee and you. You guys are special folk.
