I thought I'd share a few things I cast and turned over the last couple weeks for my AAW demo… "Resin Casting for the Woodturner".
I wanted my ice cream handle to resemble…
ice cream (color cast) and my pizza cutter to have a pizza image. (inner round blank wrapped with pizza image, clear cast and capped with wood)
The two small bowls… blue and silver cast stabilized buckeye burl and green mica and dye over an ash limb piece that fell in the back yard.
The last is a dandelion turned "semi round" but left large to show how resin magnifies small objects.
I was experimenting with mold options and casting techniques so turning them was just for fun to see how they would look when turned.
Thanks for looking and all comments welcome.
