This ice blue one is made from a twne that's used in tobacco sewing machines.I got a spool of it from my cousin this past summer.
The no strings attached was cotton butchers twine.
Surprisingly enough the cotton worked better.
I believe because it actually absorbed teh CA.
Tips?
Make sure you have acteone on hand because you will get glue on your hands.
Thick or medium is good to "start the wrap."Put a little on the tube and start wrapping.
subsequentlayers can just be "wicked" with thin CA.
Poly twine does not "absorb" the glue but the glue will bind it.

Twine and CA[:o)]

I like that one. It's an interesting idea. I wish I could see a slightly clearer photo. Are you using the close up mode on your Kodak?

I assume you are letting the lathe do the winding for you, stop and soak, Yes/no?

Do you build for your shape, or just build up even and cut back through for your shape?

Just wondering.

Tim-
The lower portion if the oicture is fuzzy but the top is pretty good resolution.
The twine is relatively fine and it is diifcult to see individual strands.
Yes I used the lathe one this one but not under power.Hand wound.
Kind of tough to give an exact explanation since we are still in R&D mode.
I didn't realize you are a member of the PMG. Aren't they sworn to secrecy, kind of like magicians?;>)

As far as being sworn to secrecy, nobody has told me to shut up yet. [;)]

We are required to sleep with a mini lathe under our beds though. It seems strange, but I am afraid to ask why.

You are a thinker! Or insane! Or just a genius! Love seeing the ideas or yours come to life! Great work! Now to stop the wife from throughing out "useless" stuff and start brainstorming.
