What happened to free speech ? I read a review on here a few days ago between a couple of the bolt action bullet pens that are on the market ? from what i read it seemed to be forum members honest opinion of two products ? in no way did he rubbish the product he just compared the two. After looking for that review today it appears that it has vanished ? can someone enlighten me as to what happened and why was it removed.

I believe it was something to do with the guy from psi say that they are taking legal action against timber bit

IAP isn't really a vendor.

It's difficult to say what happened. I'd be more interested in asking the question of what happened to the post first. Maybe the poster wanted it deleted?

There is another short mini review of the timberbits bolt action from a little while ago.

I suppose to would be interesting to know what happened.

I found the 'missing' review to be very informative actually and think it seemed helpful. But who knows.

The issue with the thread in question is that it was not compliant with the review manager's guidelines regarding product reviews - I think it had something to do with comparing two vendors, which is not an appropriate review.

Freedom of speech is alive and well, but posts in the reviews section must comply with the product review manager's posted guidelines!

I sort of understand what you are talking about BUT if i was to do a review on a sierra where there are numerous shouldn't i be able say the pens in particular that i am reviewing or whats the point ? the person reading the reviews needs to know where the pens are from ?
once again just my opinion

I think it would be great to know where the pens being reviewed are from or there is no point

You can say that, you just can't compare the one you are reviewing with another brand. You can only talk about the one you are reviewing.

There were some "legal" allegations made in the review by the competitor (PSI) and
thereby placed the original review by Whaler (for the Timberbits bolt-action) in a comprimising position. I suspect that that is the reason why the posting was deleted IMO.

So a thread disappears and you immediately play the free speech card? Sheesh! I don't mind the question, but give us the benefit of the doubt, willya!? :biggrin:

It was temporarily deleted while the management team discussed where it belonged. It was not appropriate for our reviews section because (a) we don't currently allow comparison reviews and (b) there was commentary about a legal issue which did not belong in the reviews section.
