That is a very attractive pen !!!

I see that there are 11 segmented rings, in addition to the two end caps. . The rings are separated by black veneer discs

Can you please tell me now many segments each ring has ? . . Would it be 12 segments in each ring ? . If so, that's 30 degrees per segment, not counting the segment separator pieces ( also black veneer ? ) . Thanks.

Mal, I would say 9 pieces per ring . Cut 9 pieces of 3 different woods 5/16 " square , glue them together with black veneer between the pieces , turn round, cut slices as required , glue them together in a spiral with black veneer between the slices. You have a few of these rings ( NO VENEER )in the segmented blanks that I just made for you.
