I was all set to ride the loser express till next time then Bam out of the blue I won ! I entered photos , pens and tried to identify the excotic species of wood with great guesses like, hickory, black ash , pecan and entered the daily trivia 26 days for sure and zip, zilch, nota, nothing then on the 28th day of the trivia drawing I won! I was shocked, I thought I'd have to keep my seat till next year but nope I got to switch trains! I haven't won anything in well I can't remember maybe a fries or a drink off McDonalds Monopoly game. Anyway it was fun and the Bash lived up to the hype even a little drama thrown in, but thanks bash team for the fun and making us want to play and participate I enjoyed my first Bash and hope to enjoy many others in the future.

Seriously, the fries at MceeD's aren't that good and required an additional purchase.....

Congrats on the win!!! What were the photo entries, and pen entries?

Photo was a snapshot for shop life and just one person liked it enough to vote for it!
My pens were in the Russ line contest, intermediate contest which I entered without really thinking because I liked the pen and it was the wrong kit for the beginners pens contest. I did well considering my experience I tied for 7th if I counted right and understood the voting poll. I also placed a pen in the beginners pens because technically I'm a beginner and got only 2 votes, so go figure. I really think the voting system is somewhat flawed by the way we vote for a favorite pen. I'm not trying to be critical it's just that every vote is equal and no criteria is given for voting. I think a better system may be to judge each pen individually with criteria such as , fit and finish, kit use, materials selection and execution, and so forth whatever the different criteria may be and give a 1-10 ranking in each category and then total the score and let the 3 high scores be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. Most. Likely this would not change the 1st place finishes but it probably would for 2nd and 3rd. There were so many pens that were so close and so many that were better pens but just not a popular pick. For instance I like a all wood or a wood acrylic mix but not so fond of an all acrylic so an all acrylic didn't make my favorites just because I prefer wood and combinations. Anyway it was fun and I enjoy the photos and like interactions of the people and feel those in charge did a great job! WPS !!!!
