Just wish we could sit them down and tell them that this BS of making everything political needs to stop and they need to get actual work and compromise done or they are ALL out next term.

Still think it's sad that the best people for the job will never run because they won't put up with the BS.

Implied

Just a reminder to keep this away from a discussion of politics...

But it's a good message - go and exercise your democratic right to vote, so that you then have the ethical right to complain if things don't go your way - democracy at it's finest!

Did they give us the Right to Vote?

Actually there is no Constitutional Right to vote, just Amendment to not discriminate who can vote(Amendment #15, #19, and #26 cover this).

But I digress.... I voted, my guy won. Business as usual will still prevail I'm afraid.

Let's make some pens!!! Woohoo!!!

Scott (love my country regardless) B
Article I section 2...might not specifically state a right to vote but certainly impliesa preexisting right by way of establishing qualifications. Article I section 4 addresses elections....hard to hold elections without the right to vote.

I would sat our constitution does contain the right to vote.

There isn't an asylum big enough to hold all the crazys in California.

Now, now. Are you speaking about yourself. LOL. We are not crazy, just different, independently minded, and don't want people telling us what to do.
Other then that we are very nice and interesting to boot.
From one Northern Californian to another.

I voted. Just last week. Twice a day we were getting calls. LOML would come in and say"any calls" i would say yeah! the Governer called or the Senator called. Now no calls, nobody cares about us old folks... Carl

My mailmans happy and my Voice Mail is empty. Now I can get my packages from vendors sooner and my phone are quite. How sweet it is. Now if I could get rid of all the junk mail from AARP and other health insurance companies and get Wood Magazine to stop sending renewal notices in my wife's name I would be happier, she won't pay for the subscription so I don't get the magazine anymore. Off to the Woodworking show this afternoon with my BIL.

I thought California WAS the asylum?!?!?

Well in MN it's going to be interesting for a while here. Automatic recount time. Hopefully it's not the mess it was 2 years ago with the senate race...

But I don't think it'll be a 9k vote swing, so it's all just a formality now.

Here in Sacramento County there are 2 State Senate districts. One of them, district 2 was also holding a primary for a runoff special election in January to replace a Senator who passed away this summer. The law requires that the ballots in the district that is holding the primary/special election be counted and certified first. So that means those of us in the other district have not had our ballots, mainly those of us who voted by mail. Those ballots have been locked up and stored until at least the 15 of the month. There are over 100,000 ballots in storage. These ballots could affect the City Council race in my district, the Sheriff race and possibly the State Attorney General race, and possibly a few more. LOML's and my vote hasn't been counted yet. The funny part was they used Pink(red) and Blue return envelopes for the mail in ballots in these two districts, without explanation which provide some question as to what is going on.
