Got my taps/Dies from Victor Machinery, Mr. Brooks was generous and sent me a die holder, got some sections/Nibs delivered, cast some Alumilite blanks. I think I'm finally ready to try my very first kitless fountain. Now all I have to do is find a day off and it's on like neck bone!!! Wish me luck and feel free to send me some lessons learned/advice.

just start making something. you will learn more as you go than you could have preparing and watching. looking forward to seeing what comes of it

Good luck! My suggestions are take your time with the threads, don't get too "heavy handed". In other words, if it feels stuck, don't force it, back the tap/die out a bit and then keep going. Use plenty of "cutting oil"/lube. I just use 3 in 1 oil on mine.
I would practice threading on some scraps first. I also have some of the clear acrylic rod that has been suggested in the past. It's very helpful when making your first kitless as it helps to be able to see what's going on inside, as far as drill depths and threading depths, etc.
