I have decided to make a pen that is a 308 bullet. I have a red white and blue blank. Those parts are not the important part but the next is the big part. I am going to try to get 10,000 soldiers to write their name in a book. There are 3 conditions.

1. Current Active duty
2. Retired Military
3. Parents / spouse from a fallen hero, can sign in memory of the fallen hero.

Sylvanite, thank you for the offer, I bought one from Woodcraft here in Norfolk.

I want to clear something up. Someone asked if they could sign, eventhough they did not stay in long enought to "retire". As far as I am concerned if you served you are retired, any branch included. If you are willing to make the sacrafice to help protect this country you are a hero in my eyes. Or help protect the freedom of people who can not defend themselves. Or help others while putting yourself in danger (ie National Guard filling sandbags for a hurricane coming in).

The pen's name is "Harold" after a WWII Veteran who is my Great Grandfather, he was burried this past summer, he passed this past year during the winter.

My grandmother will be the first one to sign the book In memory and honor of Harold Hoffert.
