I don't know why, but I find this so ridiculously stupid that I just had to laugh and share it. I get either scam or stupid business proposals quite often. I'm sure anyone who has an online business gets the same. This one really made my day. I never realized that it was so difficult and/or annoying to buy a pen or pencil from a store. Here is the email I received:

XXXXXX XXXXXXX <XXXXX.XXXXX.2000@gmail.com>
2:38 AM (16 hours ago)

To whom it may concern:

My name is XXXXX XXXXXX, and my partner XXXXXX XXXXXXX and I are cofounders of XXXXXXX, a company designed to give consumers a new way to obtain writing utensils, without the hassle of conventional retailers.

A little bit about us, and the thought process behind the conception of our company: Both of XXXXXX and I are students and being a student means typically one thing: Lots and lots of pencils, pens, and erasers. Problem was, that both of us had issues with the current method that most students use to get writing utensils: You buy a surplus of utensils at the very beginning of the year, and pray that you don't run out or lose them sometime during school, less you resort to scraping together any existing utensils you own around the house or from your friends.

It wasn't rocket science: How could we design a way for students like us, or anyone for that matter, to obtain utensils without the hassle and annoyance usually comes with getting them?

Our plan is simple: Design a platform which will give consumers an opportunity to get just the right amount of utensils that they need on a regular basis - no more, and no less. This way, consumers will get the most convenient and cost-effective way of obtaining the tools that they need in order to be successful.

We plan to do this by incorporating a comprehensive web-based service, which will give consumers a subscription based service that will essentially give consumers a certain set amount of utensils every month, shipped straight to their homes.

However, to carry out our business model and take the next step in developing our company, we need a utensil manufacturer to partner with. After reviewing your company, we are pleased to tell you that our goals coincide, and that we would be delighted to have an opportunity to collaborate with you. If you are interested or would like to know more, please email back and we can set up a meeting to discuss the partnership more in depth.

Best,
XXXXX and XXXXXX

Look Mike! When you were in school, what did YOU do at 2:30AM??? After a few cocktails, this plan was lots smarter than some of the things I did!!!

Those were the days!!! UUUHhhhhh, or nights????? or early mornings????? Whatever!!

Unilever just paid $1,000,000,000 for Dollar Shave Club. There will be lots of people trying to copy that success.

It's interesting that they know of your goals and share them. They must be very insightful.

No problem Mike!
