Don't feel too bad cutting that scratched up box ... pickup boxes are pretty cheap around here .... :wink:I've started to cut these a few times. I know a lot of places these aren't much, but for around here, they're pretty nice. Maybe I'll wait until next week to cut them.
A TRUE hunters ultimate goal is to use everything he can from the gift given him by the game animals we chase. I hunt and trap more than many Alaskans, yet I dont have a single rack on the wall. Ya can't eat antler and I dont know anyone who hangs the chicken bones on the wall after eating KFC. Honor the majestic animal that grew that antler and use it! Make it a part of your life instead of a decoration.
No need to slam me I know full well this view is not popular among the "hunting" community.........far to many have lost sight of what hunting is in pursuit of horn porn.
Run over them with yer truck then ya won't mind cutin them.
Well I never really found a use for the hooves or innards either but I don't feel bad that I never ate them.....perhaps mice, crows, and other opportunistic feeders did after I threw them out.A TRUE hunters ultimate goal is to use everything he can from the gift given him by the game animals we chase. I was taught that if you kill it you clean it and you eat it. I don't eat the horns, but I have been hanging coffee cups, hats, shirts and jackets, and once coming back down the ladder, a fairly new pair of jeans. I decided to never use a ladder within 6 feet of the pointy ends ever again.
