A coworker and spouse of my wife came over last weekend. They wanted to see my shop. I had some segmented blanks on my workbench. They couldn't get over the blanks. They said they would love to have a couple to display on their coffee table. I gave them a couple. They are not woodworkers at all. So there's another market we can tap into. Coffee table blanks

I can't say that I blame them. I feel the same way when I see your work. The difference is since I'm a pen turner I'd want to see them finished rather than just laying around.

TO be honest, I love the pens but the beauty of a phenomenally segmented blank with 4 sides - they present some artistic geometries that astound me; that particular aspect is taken away when rounded. There are two different beauties in each blank.
We are just used to the final iterations for sure, but there is great geometric beauty on a 4 sided iteration also.

But how many people have a coffee table these days? Haven't seen one in years. My parents had one about 65 years ago.

I'll bet some nice stopper sized segmented blanks would be great on coffee tables! Ooh, can I get a set of those cool blocks?
