This is one that I've been wanting to finish for too long. EB Diamond Knurl RB in antique brass. I do love these kits. The blank is obviously hybrid, consisting of Mallee burl and Alumilite, which I purchased on Etsy from Jakob Janssen Studios. I painted the 10.5 hole with white, and made the 12.5 slightly gray to try to even out the color change/depth with the difference in wall thickness. It's better than some I have done, but not quite where I want it yet. Other than that, I'm happy with it. The band and finial were done from the same blank. The finial is super thin, but it was the last of the usable blank that I had left. See pictures at the bottom for that.

About that finial: I should have realized the thickness issue and compensated when I did the cutoff. Live and learn. I ended up using a piece of tagboard, a shoebox thickness of cardboard, to build it up. I suppose it has about the same depth as the other resin on the cap. It's time to start using a more opaque resin for this style of pen.

good grief, this is just drop dead gorgeous.

I keep saying I want to try the center band and cabuchon/finial. I have to try it now because that's awesome.

Very nice. I really like the idea of using gray and white for the two thicknesses to offset the amount of light that reflects off the resin/tube. I will definitely take that into consideration on my next pen. Thanks!
