Rarer from Tasmania the only place it grows in the world, from a tree that was 2000 yrs old only mm,s a yr. While turning the scene changes all the time,it has a distinctive smell like a pheremone that attracts insects but is lethal to them. Getting hard to find.

Peter.

A stunning work Mate! Lovely blank and excellent turning profile. Very nicely done. Be well, stay healthy. Shop time for me is zero as tending to caring for in-laws. But it's nice to see artistry like this.

When I was making and selling, I loved to make pens from this unique wood. The wood itself ranked in the small group of my favorite pen woods. I would always save a small piece of the Huon, unfinished, to be included with the pen. People really enjoyed the fragrance inherent to the wood. That helped sell the pen when people would take a sniff, along with my sales pitch describing the tree itself.

Huon deserves to be used for fine pens only, which you fulfilled. Very nice work, Peter!!
