Just joined up. I have never turned pens before (made knives in the past), but I am going to try it soon. I am currently waiting on the woodworking show in Houston (April 2011), heard there are often good deals there. Looks like there is a lot of info on this website, and it will take a while to look through it all. If there are any pen turners in the Huntsville, TX area who want to share any thoughts on equipment or such, feel free to send me a note. Thanks and I look forward to new experiences!

Welcome from Spring, Tx right down the road from you! Nice town, Huntsville. That is where I was born. Have a few relatives there.

This is an awesome site! A ton of info and visit the library for more good info.
The people here are fantastic and very talented in what they do!

Welcome from far west Kentucky, Robert to the addiction, sometimes referred to as the vortex. You mention that you have read some of the site, be sure to give the library a good bit of time. The link is at the top of the page. You will find an article called Library Index. This covers tutorials on about anything pen making you can think of. You will also notice that there are articles listed by year. Much good info there as well. When these fail to answer your questions, by all means post it here. I have never seen one go unanswered very long. Grab some wood, make some shavings and have fun all the while being safe.
