HRB Pentel & Euro Birds Eye Pine

Did a couple simple pens on this great July 4th.
Pentel pencil conversion in Honduras Rosewood Burl.
Euro in Birds Eye Pine (Ponderosa Pine) from big box store.

The pentel almost kicked by b***t. Very thin at the nib end. I turned it a little thicker than a standard pentel plastic barrel.

The pine was fun, actually a nice piece of wood.

Nice work on the Pentel.
Is that a kit or a pencil you bought and disassembled?

Patrick, that was a standard pentel that was taken apart. That one is a 5mm that had the black barrel.

Love the Pentel. I am a trim carpenter and use 9mm pentels and such. I would love to make a few of those. Any tricks to getting the guts out and drills used?

Brian, easy to get the parts out, just unscrew the nib and pull out the rest. Now, the work begins. You will need a step drill to bore the hole. Check rherrel and pentel drill in the classified.

Keep in mind the nib section is very thin, I do mine a bit thicker than the standard barrel.
