Hello all! New amateur pen turner here. I picked up woodworking as a hobby about a year ago and recently transitioned into pen turning (about a month ago) using an old early 1960's Mark V ShopSmith that I inherited from my grandfather.

I am really enjoying the new hobby and have found myself on this site many times reviewing posts related to issues that I am encountering. I look forward to learning from all of you.

Welcome Ryan, I'm from Aurora and belong to the Front Range Woodturners Guild that meets at Rocklers the first tuesday of the month. I also belong to the Rocky Mountain Woodturners Guild that meets in Loveland on the first Thursday as well as a special pen group in Loveland that meets on the third thursday every month at Woodcraft. Hope to see you at one of the three someday. The Denver club has a great library, check it out.
