OK, ok... I've been lurking around on this website long enough. It is time to come out of my shy little shell (even if just for a moment) and say "Hi", and "Thanks, to you all".

I am brand new to turning, unless you count that one misguided attempt thirty years ago in my high school shop class. These forums have filled my head with so many ideas, technics, and designs for new pens that it looks like I will be around here for a while. It is great to see so many fellow pen turners out there.

I am already starting to collect more pens then I can possibly give away to friends and relatives. It looks like I will need to learn how to sell some of my beloved creations so I can keep dreaming new ones. Now if I can just find a local "mentor", I'll be set.

Hi Jim. I grew up in Vancouver. Went to Shumway Jr. high and Hudsons Bay high school. Lived on "H" st. Left when I was in my mid 20s. We were up there last Feb for a week. A lot has changed in 20 years. Can still get around tho.
