Below are pics of the PITH pen I received from MarkD. An amazing bit of cedar wrapped around a modified Jr. Gent. This is just a bit longer than stock (which feels really nice) to accomodate the stylus he threaded into the post. How cool is that?!?!?

Mark - Thank you. You gave more than an amazing product and cool blanks. You provided inspiration for another turner. I've such a long way yet to travel along this path

Eastern Red Cedar is too often overlooked by everyone, especially when it's crosscut like this blank here...the coloring is absolutely amazing.

Fit-n-finish is remarkably well executed!! Very lucky!!!!

Scott (wonder who has the best deals on xcut ERC) B

Very beautiful pen! The finish is amazing. You are indeed very lucky

As for best deals on regular and crosscut ERC - I find it on Ebay for pretty inexpensive once in a while. Last batch of cross-cut I got was 5 for $5.50. 3/4"x3/4"x5.5"

Sam, I'm glad you like the pen. It was a fun project. The xcut cedar was a bit challenging but oh so worth it in the end.

It would agree...under utilized. Not to mention the happy unintended consequence of making the whole shop smell WONDERFUL!.

Thanks again Mark...really something special.

Sam
