I bought a couple packets of clay today and a "pasta" machine. Was wondering how I keep the clay from getting hard after it is open. I am thinking of some type of tupperware/rubbermade. Maybe even a storage box like used for pen supplies with compartments in it? Any ideas?

Keeping it in a baggy or small plastic container will work just fine. It doesn't really dry out like regular clay it just takes a little longer to get it soft. You can buy a diluent that a few drops of will make the clay softer to knead. It isn't wrapped in an air tight wrapper, only cellophane. I have some clay that I have had for years and if I let it get warm in my hands it works just fine.

Zip lock bag. I used some that was a year old and had to run it through the pasta machine a bunch of times to make it plyable enough again.

I bought about 20 blocks of Fimo at a yard sale for 2$ a few weeks ago and when I first started to play with it I thought it was bad because iot was crumbly but after kneading it for awhile it became nice and pliable. After reseaerching ti I found it does not go bad like other clays and justs needs working to return it to pliable state.
Because of the heat this summer I think I am going over to the dark side during the day and learn how to do it.
