When I lifted the little lip on the bag a tablespoon of sugar went on the counter and the floor. Granted it is not much, but it happens evertime. I try to expect it, but it still gets me.... Thanks for letting me vent..

Put the entire 5 lb bag into a quart sized ziplock bag before you open it. Then dump the entire contents of the bag into the ziplock. First, you don't spill. Second, you can easily determine how much sugar you have, BEFORE you run out. And third, it discourages ants.

I have spent the afternoon figuring out how to get 5 pounds of sugar into a 1 quart bag and just cannot do it.

Open your bag of sugar in the woods 150 yards behind your house. Then pour it all into a steel container with a threaded, gasketed lid. Next, put the container in a padded case, handcuffed to your right arm. Proceed back to the house. When in the house, use the fingerprint scanner on your padded case to open it. Take the container out and place it in a Lexan case with a retinal scanner and vacuum pump to keep it safe. Now you are ready for the sugar to be used for your coffee. Or just open it in the sink and put it in a better container. I use an old creamer bottle so I can just pour it into the coffee cup with no spillage.
