Take a US Quarter

The letters in UNITED STATES OF AMERICA = 1.5mm
The letters IN GOD WE TRUST = 1mm
The Mint Mark = 0.75mm

An easier way to find out how big a mm is..

Look at a ruler!

(I'm sure you can get non-US rulers on ebay)

So does Google, and I usually have my browser up, so it's easier even than the Windows Calculator. (Speaking of which, recent versions of Calculator also do most conversions, so that's available for Windows users.)

Anyway, on Google you just enter the measurement you have followed by "in" followed by the measurement you want. Try entering

350 g in oz
1 mm in inches
1 furlong in mm

It also works in the search bar at the top of my browser (which I've set to Google).

1mm is one tenth of 1cm, anything else I can be of no help with?

Easy calculation is to divided the mm number by 25.4 to get inches.
multiply the inch number by the same to get metric.
