Thanks for all the likes and positive comments. As a parent, seeing your child find a career where they can both make a difference and excel in is an amazing feeling.
Unfortunately, this positive experience is bittersweet in that the daughter (Lyda) of a close friend is currently battling for her life with a failing heart that has been damaged by a year of chemo-therapy for Ewings Sarcoma. I cannot imagine the pain that Lyda and her family are going through after what has already been a hellish year. Please say a prayer for Lyda if you are so inclined and remember to celebrate life's positive moments every chance you get no matter how large or small they may be.
