I'll say first that I do have some vested interest in this post because it is my wife that is doing this and of course if she happens to make as much as Newman's Own with this then I of course benefit.

That caveat said, my wife, around May of last year did a Kickstarter (Gourmet Finishing Salt and Spice Blends - These are Hot!!! by Amanda Nicolet — Kickstarter) and was successfully funded. I'm very proud of her. Especially since she did it on a whim because of my love of hot things.

Well she is now ready to get her Hot Sauces, that she also did on a whim during the middle of the other Kickstarter Campaign, approved for sale. It has something to do with the pH balance and being shelf stable. She has to get them lab tested and approved to be able to sell them. That costs money as anyone in the food business knows (I'm taking her word on this. It's her business and her project).

That said if anyone loves hot sauce here is the link:

From Hot Saucy Dreams to Hot Sauce Reality! by Amanda Nicolet — Kickstarter

Don't feel obligated to back it or anything (though feel free if you so choose) and if you know any chili heads I would ask that you share the link with them. Her goal is to get them on store shelves at some point.

Can't say enough how proud I am of her. All this while raising three children age 4 and younger!

first things first, love the labels. There are hundreds of hot sauces on store shelves, Im a chef by trade and I have a couple of seasonings and rubs on the market locally. The labels are eye catching, let me know when and where it hits the shelves.

be aware that use of the Marine Corps logo may run afoul with the USMC.

Good luck with your kickstarter! I may have to pick up a bottle.

She is aware. Part of the process for this one is applying for and getting approval to use it. If not she can modify one and go from there. Or stylize one too.

The ingredients look great.
There was a sauce shop in VA Beach I used to go to and I must say that this is probably the only sauce line with titles and artwork that are appropriate to say around women, children and Airmen.

Congrats to your wife Gunny.

Atta boy Gunny!!! Your girl is chasing her dream and what's close to her heart; most try to get our passion out there in a product...in our case, our pens. I love seasoning packets and rubs...even make my own smoked salt...like you we love some heat around here, but I love smoke too! I have an old, good friend that cans jellies and jams...ghost pepper & habanero jellies and jams...put that on your toast! Since my wife and I are old hands at canning, we always give him a hand. Looking forward to supporting the cause!!!

Congrats to your wife Gunny.

Thanks. She really enjoyed running the names by me when she was creating them.

Have to admit, I had to look to see what "finishing salt" is.

Anyways looking for different hot sauces.

I didn't know it either until she told me. When I'm home we don't even have regular salt on the table anymore.

Love the name "Preggo Run" hot sauce.

She came up with that one while pregnant with our third. Something to do with peppers can help start labor or something.

Thanks, I'm proud of her. My hope is she makes millions and I can retire and putter around the garage all day making pens and what not. I am a bit of a chili head. My wife sort of is but doesn't like them as hot. I say it's fine if it makes me cry as long as it tastes good. Smoked salt is what makes the We Smoked 'Em my favorite one!
