Being new to this whole pen thing, acrylics confuse me a bit. How is something like this made? Does Toni draw the leaves and butterflies on a round canvas and then encase it in acrylic material? When it is turned down, are you just turning clear acrylic? Can you post a pic of the blank before you turned it?

I understand turning wood and the swirly acrylics but these confuse me...

I don't mean to derail the post but I am curious...

Drew~its polymer clay!! If you look in my signature there is a link to a basic tutorial on how they are made The blank before its been sanded, polished and CA'd is a dull unsanded blank, nothing exciting..

Well it all starts from this block of clay.

then it turns into some type of pattern

When all goes well. ...

then when the day is done and over with

Oh it also helps to have plenty of canes you have made over the years (read 20 years)
