I had a couple of folks that wanted to see what Honey Locust looks like turned. These are about 6 months old and have turned a nice brownish color.
The wood is great to work with.
These are part of our showroom inventory.

Gary,
Is this the same wood that has 4" thorns growing out of the bark? I just turned two pieces of a tree from my yard that did, and the locals call this Honey Locust... my wood is very white. I'm still working on the finish, so no pictures yet.

Those are nice Gary!Could you show me a pic of the one in the back with the inclusion?I think I like that one best. What kind of finish are you using?

The finish is just a homebrew oil---(kinda like Danish oil)
I did not want them to be glossy.
I have a big Oak burl on the lathe today so it's got me tied up.

I don't know but there is a bunch of it around here. There are several kinds of Locust.
I had some Black Locust last year that was a bunch harder than this stuff.
