Mal I use the Tripoli powder for a courser paste like Yorkshire Grit for wood or what everyone uses first (the brown paste and diatomaceous earth (finer grit and food safe when mixed) for the lighter paste for acrylics or again as used second in all the YouTube videos. Also You can adjust the amount of grit material used.
I recommend mixing small batches until you find the mix that is right for you. Glad you found it useful.
