always fancied a pair of these so last weekend went on a training course and here's the results. As yet untested on the pole lathe but I might try them out ( tentatively ) on my power lathe.

Hook tools like these are used for making captive ring items like baby rattle, wine glass stems, etc
I've never seen then used like that but it could be interesting . Once they have handles I'll have a go and report back. I've used point tools for captive rings and curved scrapers but only seen hook tools used for fast , efficient hollowing into end grain ( and side grain ) on goblets , bowls etc. On a pole lathe they work fine.

MiteyF they are carbon steel totally hardened then let back to pale yellow 🤞🤞 Might be a bit delicate for a power lathe but …. 🤷‍♂️ They we're traditionally used on wet wood hence my caution about dry wood / powered lathe use.
