I was browsing the tool section at HD yesterday and the salesman told me of a promotion they have going on. If you apply and are approved for a contractors card, you can get a one time 30% discount on any one tool. You don't have to be a contractor or have a business. No fees involved. Takes about two minutes and they approve it right on the spot. I got $170 off my Bosch LM4410 miter saw.

I used the same promotion to get $150 off my new planer last week. We have a friend of my daughter that lives with us, and she works at HD. She told me about it on Thursday, bought the planer on Friday and already had a HD CC (but not a commercial one).

Now before any of you ask how I use a planer on my lathe- I also still do a lot of "flat work".
