We had the same thing here several months back. The insurance company totaled my roof. You could see through some of the holes the hail left in our roof. The insurance adjuster said that there were houses that he could put his whole fist through. Some guy at work said his fathers windshield got busted out....INSIDE THE GARAGE... the hail went through the roof through the drywall and busted the windshield. I can believe it. Thank God for insurance.

Wow

I have seen a few hail storms but never hail that broke windshields and knocked holes in roofs. I think the biggest I've seen were perhaps a half inch or so in diameter.

That must have been the storm that was heading for us that (according to the warnings) went towards Utah at the last minute and we got the wind instead 60 mph gusts.

Wow- What a mess you guys had/have over there. Sorry you were one on the unlucky ones. Lots of major home & auto damage. Flagstaff & south of there is catching it as I type. In excess of 2" hail. All we got is a very light rain out of all that--just a little too far East to get it. Friends in Chandler [neighbors in Alpine] lost some large branches, but their next door neighbor had 4 trees over, 2 down on their house. The largest I've ever seen in Alpine was about 1/2" & hail is common up there. Wonder how many woodturners are out with chainsaws today. But glad your home wasn't damaged also. Hang in there.

biggest I've seen personally was a little bigger than pea sized. And with where I live, that's likely the biggest I'll ever see. Conditions don't spawn a bunch of tornadoes in my area, hail is more frequent, but still not a big issue.

Boy, Jerry, I am sure glad I am still in OK! My new car would have been ruined!

Jack said it looked like it had snowed in the yard. We are just a couple of miles from you, and we may have to have a new roof.

Didn't hurt the old Dodge. Made of cast iron, I think.
